Wadi Mitna (Valley of Blood)

Visit the historical Wadi Mitna, a valley that holds significance in Islamic history. This is where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was injured by the people of Taif during his visit to spread Islam. The name “Valley of Blood” comes from the hardship he endured here. The valley is now peaceful and a good spot to reflect on the Prophet’s journey.

Mosque & Library of Abdullah bin Abbas

This mosque is one of the most prominent religious and historical landmarks in Taif. Abdullah bin Abbas, a cousin of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and one of the greatest scholars of Islam, is buried here. The mosque has been a center for learning and worship for centuries. Attached to the mosque is a large library that contains rare Islamic manuscripts, making it a significant site for scholars and those interested in Islamic history.

Drive up to the Al-Hada Mountain, known for its winding roads and amazing views. You can take the cable car down to the valley, where you’ll find a small zoo and amusement park for a quick break. The ride itself offers stunning views of the landscape, giving you a unique perspective on Taif’s natural beauty.

Al-Shafa Mountains

Explore the peaceful Al-Shafa region, known for its high altitude, cooler climate, and beautiful scenery. This area is famous for its fruit farms, especially grapes, figs, and pomegranates. It’s an ideal spot for relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying the cool breeze.

Mosque of the Ants (Masjid Al-Naml)

This mosque is tied to a story in the Quran, in Surah An-Naml (The Ants), where Prophet Solomon (Suleiman) speaks to an army of ants while leading his forces. According to tradition, this event took place in the Taif area, and the mosque was built to commemorate this miraculous event. The story highlights Prophet Solomon’s wisdom and communication with animals, and the mosque serves as a significant site for both religious reflection and historical curiosity.

Rock of Al-Mu’allaq (Suspended Rock)

This site in Taif is associated with a story from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is said that during the Prophet’s time in Taif, he sought refuge after being mistreated by the locals. At one point, this rock was believed to have miraculously suspended in the air, offering shelter or protection to the Prophet. The rock is seen as a symbol of divine intervention and is a popular site for visitors reflecting on the hardships faced by the Prophet. It continues to be a site of religious significance and wonder.
